Tesco - stole £100 from me!

God I hate Tesco. Why do I never learn?
Placed a grocery order with Tesco.com. ETA 4-6pm on Wednesday. At 5.10 on Wednesday, I get a call from Tesco store in Lewes saying driver has gone home sick and they cannot deliver my shopping. I ask when they can deliver my shopping and I am told to phone DUNDEE and rearrange. I ask that the service charge be waived and the shop assistant agrees.
So I phoned Dundee and rearrange for delivery on Thursday. Shopping comes on time but I have been charged £4.99 for delivery (£1 more expensive than a Wednesday delivery). So I called the store and ask for a £4.99 refund - which the manager offers to do on Friday.
So today (Monday), I check my account to make sure I got my £4.99 refund. But instead of a £4.99 refund, Tesco have charged me TWICE for my shopping. Once on Wednesday and once on Thursday. And now I cannot get through to anyone who can give me a refund.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
GIVE ME BACK MY £100 YOU EVIL COMPANY.
Not even a hint of "I'm so sorry, we'll give you 500 clubcard points."

From reading all the various posts about Tescos deliveries I think it varies greatly depending on your 'local store'. My local has been great whenever I have used it (in terms of online shops). When there has been a problem....a quick phone call to Tesco Customer Services and the problem is fixed very quickly.
But other's have had a lot of problems that they have found difficult to get fixed.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I have just spoken to the tesco home shopping manager. Apparently she was far too busy to action my refund last week. Shame I cannot be far too busy to pay my direct debits.
Back to Asda this week then.0 -
Like I say - I should have learned my lesson from previous experiences. I've had rotten food delivered, out of date food delivered, no delivery, late deliveries, someone else's shopping, large parts of deliveries missing. And every time no offer of compensation from Tesco.
I was in Asda once and the checkout broke. Three members of staff rushed over to move me to another checkout and the supervisor ran up with a £5 voucher to say sorry. LEARN TESCO.0 -
I think it must be down to your local store. We have tesco.com delivered every week and very rarely have we ever had a problem. A couple of times we have had a cracked egg, or a cad potato - but we havephoned up and received a full refund for whichever item was affected.
I have tried Asda once and was very disappointed. I think you're best off sticking with what is good in your area, but for all of them it doesn't seem to be the company as a whole which is the problem .....0 -
Have to say positive stuff about Tesco as well. No major mistakes - minor ones have been quickly resolved on the phone, no problems with delivery slots and the driver regularly rings to ask if he can arrive early - usually quite entertaining as if we look out of a side window we can see him parked in the next street;-))Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

Only good things to report from me too. Maybe they are just picking on you
I think that you have a Waitrose opening near you soon - you may find that they send out money off vouchers to try and get your custom. They aren't cheap but we had £15 off for a £70 shop and free delivery which made it worth doing. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." -Thomas Jefferson 18020 -
I've only tried to get Tesco shopping delivered once and never again!
In August, we had my daughter's naming ceremony and were catering for it ourselves. So to save time and as I had an online discount code, we thought we'd order online and get it delivered. As you can imagine, we were so busy getting everything arranged but waited in. No delivery turned up, I phoned customer services to be told that there had been no such order. Not a happy bunny  as it was the day before the service. They said they couldn't deliver until the sunday (day after event) as there were no delivery slots available, so we had to do a mad dash run round the supermarket to get everything  .
We did get £10 credited to OH's credit card though, so I guess not all bad"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -

Yep - I wouldn't be without them. They're a Godsend, as I live in a small village miles from the nearest Supermarket and only Tesco deliver.
I won't say I haven't had problems, but they are always resolved with the minimum of fuss and delay. I think that as with all things, it's down to the individual personalities at each store - must be the luck of the draw.0
