Evening all
I have bought a new laptop (acer aspire 5920) and am trying to connect it to my existing router. The computer is picking up the wireless network but will not connect to it. I have got the network key etc in front of me but it keeps saying it is wrong. I already have my old laptop connected to the router so don't know if this is the problem.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank
Barrie

You could hook the new laptop up by ethernet cable to the router, try resetting the wireless key?0

first make sure you are using the right settings ie:64/128 wep/wpa. then make sure it is asking for key and not passphrase.0

it is a pass phrase it is asking for sorry.
At the moment I am running it through a cable.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0 -

Wouldn't the passphrase only apply if you were connecting wirelessly?0 -
It asks for pass phrase when I am trying to run it wirelessly. I am currently using a cable so that I can use the internet now.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

do you know the passphrase?
there is usually a way to chose within the wireless connection software to connect using passphrase or key.0 -
