Possible to have shower over free standing bath?

I would like to install a free standing bath where the bath is not attached to the wall. However I would also like to have a shower over the bath if possible. Is there a way of doing this? If I have a shower curtain it would have to be completed circular and I cannot see this working. Any ideas?
Thanks,
C.

A couple of ideas:
You can hang a curtain(s) so that the vertical support rod is in the middle of the curtain.
Versatile 5-way kit with extruded aluminium rail, ceiling support, hooks and gliders. Can be used to make the following: Small L - 790 x 920mm, Large L - 790 x 1670mm, Small U - 790 x 760 x 790mm, Large U - 790 x 1500 x 790mm, Straight - 1830mm. Rails may be shortened using a junior hacksaw. I think with two (three?) such kits you can design what you need.
Similar kit: http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/982-2759 (or here: http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/s/880/shower+curtains+rings+16738.html)0 -
You can indeed do this and you do have a circular shower curtain. I found a picture online at bathroomexpress.co.uk. Its in the baths, baths without whirlpools, clearwate collection free standing and is called angel - the link is below

The only thing I would say is that I stayed in a hotel with one of these once - looked amazing but when you use the shower the shower curtain seems to close in on you - it must be something to do with the pressure created by the hot steam - its weird - maybe you just need a heavier shower curtain.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks for the ideas and links guys. I really do not like the plastic sealant stuff that is used in bathrooms as it always goes manky. I have been trying to find a way of putting in a bath and shower to avoid having to use sealant. The only way I can think is to have the free standing option.
Fluffymuffin - the angel bath is perfect, but I almost fainted at the price! Will have to find a way of doing something similar much cheaper.0 -
The other problem with this type of shower is that you can't have one without getting your hair wet as you have to stadn right under the head.
I don;t like them cos I don;t like water on my face!!!!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

You could use something like this to avoid unsightly sealent. I would recommend using sealent first and then covering it with a strip similar to this.
Then it's just plastic to wipe down.

Just on this point, decent quality sanitary grade sealant doesn't usually go mouldy. The problem is people go for the cheaper options when looking at the stuff down at the DIY shops. I've never had any complaints about silicone sealants, and I have ongoing maintenence work several years after many of my bathroom installations (as well as regularly getting to see friends and familys' bathrooms I've fitted) and it looks as fresh as the day it was applied. Alot of it is in the application also. Some people try using decorators caulk which usually lasts about a week!0 -
Moneysavingplumber - can you buy the non-cheap stuff from regular plumbing shops or will it be hard to source?0

I always do anyway. I have no problem with water on my face especially as I scuba dive.0 -

It's actually not that expensive at the trade-counters such as PTS, Plumb Center or Grahams, it shouldn't be more than a fiver, but in DIY shops it's often at about £7 a tube set against the non-sanitary stuff at £3-£4. Dow Corning 785 is the one to ask for if in doubt, although PTS own brand 'Tradesave' is just as good.0
