3 not going back on mis-sold contract.

I recently asked 3 about their early cancellation fee, thinking it was due to end in October on my 12 month contract. I was shocked to hear a sum of £200+. It turns out my contract is actually 18 months!!!. I am very sure I was never told it was 18 months and I'm very sure I specifically told the 3 customer services that I did NOT want an 18 month contract, which is way I assumeed I had to pay out £100 for my n95.
Anyway, I obivously dispatched a letter straight away after talkin to Otelo explaining what had happened and that I'm disputing the contract term because it was mis-sold to me. Week and half later I recieved a call from 3 executive offices, he basically listed every phone call I've had with three over the last 8-9 months. At the end of it he refused to lower the contract to the 12 months I specified at the beginning. I'm now waiting for that in writing so I can ask for help from Otelo.
Does anyone have any advise about this?

Ask for a copy or transcript of the call where you agreed to an 18 month contract.0
