i've experimented with this in the past,
you need to have a VERY good description to do this, and that takes an absoloute age

you can get very cheap digital cameras nowadays for under a tenner in bookshops like the works, you can even get very cheap webcams (superdrug had them for a fiver a few weeks ago)
if you can stretch a little, the sony eye toy is an excellent webcam, you could also use it to create pictures for your auctions

if you want to make money, then DONT list without pictures, and the more pictures the better

No pictures at only is a no no. You need at least a standard image ( say googled for an image) for brand new items and if you are selling used items u will also need to give a precise detail on your listing of the quality of the items ( ie scratches/marks etc). As for gallery pictures u can get away with not paying for it though i would recommend you have one if you are selling a few items under the same listing. I guess it comes down to the whole presentation of your listing , having vague details and no pictures at all wont look nice and probably put ppl off from bidding.

would you say until i can get something better thhat using the phone camera is better than nothing?
Couple with a good description it might be a reasonable listing..
