US embassy (Belfast) - Where can I leave my phone?

Hi all,
I'm going to the US embassy in belfast next thursday. I'm not allowed to bring my phone in and their militant about that. I'm only going to belfast for the visa, and i'll be going over from London. I need to bring my phone because my degree results come out next thursday, and if i don't pass my degree then i don't need my visa anyway!
Does anyone know if there any any facilities nearby where I could leave my phone?

Do they not have bag storage at point of entry? or failing that left luggage at the station/airport. Failing that could you call in at the store of your provider O2,Orange etc and ask if they could hold it for you?0

The embassy is out in Stranmillis area of Belfast - so there is definitely owhere nearby where you can leave your mobile phone. I don't think there is a left luggag facility anywhere I know of in Central Belfast. I have also noticed that the embassy is not open for walk-in visa enquiries - so I hope you have an appointment with them.
I would suggest you leave your phone at home and come and get the visa - after all you are going to the expense of going to Belfast - so you may as well go ahead and get the visa, even though you end up not needing it.
The only other suggestion is to google "left luggage belfast" - that will get you the website of the Belfast Welcome Centre in the city centre who appear to have a left luggage service.

No they don't, and belfast city airport doesn't have a left luggage facility.
I've never been to Northern Ireland (or ireland for that matter!) so i guess i could try a phone shop...

There is no question of me not going to get the visa, I have an appointment. I just wanted to be able to get my degree results as soon as they are out, rather than searching for a payphone and trying desperately to get through to someone who might be able to tell me what i got! I've been waiting a long time for these results.:o
Thanks for your help.Student MoneySaving Club member 0210 -

What did we do before mobile phones!0 -

If the previous post is correct you could leave it at the welcome centre which is in the city centre, near the front of city hall. You could then walk to the side of city hall and get a bus up to stranmillis, which would stop right outside the embassy IIRC. You could also post this on the northern ireland board on this forum, and someone may be able to come up with a better suggestion. I take it you are just travelling over for the day, because otherwise you could obviously leave it in your hotel room.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0

You're not allowed to bring it "in" but you do leave it in the security office, along with any other electronic equipment. Its returned on your departure.
That was the procedure when I went there. Its pretty strict and tightly run, I'm pretty sure they'd shoot you if you looked funny.0
