I have been with Tiscali, bb and telephone (inclusing line rental) for some time. I now wish to move to Orange with their bb/telephone package. Got the MAC code from Tiscali no problem. Orange say that I need a BT line to switch. BT will only take me back if I sign a contract with them. Is this right? Can I not move as I wish? Help!

    You can move as you wish but it is hardly fair to expect BT to do it for free knowing you would/could move immediately to Orange. There is a strong chance you will be charged the reconnection fee of £124.99 (or if you talk nicely to them try to get their current special deal of £29.99).
    Your displeasure perhaps should be with Orange as to why they will not (even though they could) get the line changed to their equipment.
