Louise that is so funny about DS. They have a magic way of putting things at that age don't they. I can remember my work experience like it was yesterday...on the switchboard in a busy hospital and hated every min of it, so I can completely understand where your DS is coming from!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. Ok advise needed....Off on holiday week on Saturday. Just to a friends house in Devon whilst they are on a nice holiday for 3 weeks in France. So won't have any actual costs of paying for a holiday but how much do you think I should budget for the week for us to spend on doing things?? I want to make it free wherever possible but as this is our first so called holiday for 3 years I would like to budget in a few days when we can do something nice. I currently have £1500 in the debt savings account ready to pay off our HSBC overdraft so I have some funds but don't want DH to think he has free reigns to go mad so want to tell him we have X amount.
Gosh that was a long waffle, sorry, so what do you think?
It really does depend on what type of nice things you are planning but for a weeks holiday last year I took about £400 that was for food aswell as we were self catering that was for 4 of us we had a few days and meals out but didnt do theme parks or really expensive things. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
DS1 is doing work experience this week and next but finishes at 1.30pm today so I am picking him up and having to bring him back to work with me as I wont have time to drop him off at home, he is over the moon about that ............not:rotfl: he said "Mam, No randoms had better speak to me or I am out of there"...by "randoms" he means me fellow college lecturers:rolleyes:
Poor bairn (Age15 but will always be my baby) is hating the placement he has been given and he said that if he ever had to really do a job like that he would "Die from the inside out":rotfl: he has a funny way of putting things.

Thanks, I have already £50 in the food budget for the week plus I will get CB while we are away of £70 odd (can never remember the exact figure) so I guess if I had in my mind £150 I think we could do lots with a total of £270. I had planned that we could go to the beach (taking sandwiches etc) on a couple of days (rain or shine!) and then see what else there is around for DD to do.
Are there any websites that list days out or free things?I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
