Orange UK - How long for Activation?
Hi! Please help!
Couple of weeks ago I called up Orange and requested to switch to Pay As You Go from my current contract (which ended some time ago - I've just been paying it as usual). They gave me a number to call, and I stored it on my PC, which promptly died in the meantime!
Received the sim today - but isn't it a particular registration phone number I have to call, so they will shut down my contract sim?
I think I remember reading something about it on here, but haven't found the post again.
The only number I can see on the card is 0800 079 0006 to activate the sim card.
I don't want to screw up and have to keep paying for a contract I don't use!

Called them today about 2pm, kept my number and began the activation thing - but I haven't yet received the confirmation text or anything on the new PAYG sim - currently shows as 'Limited Service".
The old contract sim shows "Inactive Sim" (tested it in a different handset).
Any idea how long activation should take in this case? The guy said a few hours, but it's now 11.25 am, and still nothing.
My Dad disconnected the battery to check the imei (without me knowing) - would this cause the problem? Should I call again and ask for them to re-send the activation?

Should I try to re-activate online, do you think?
I've tried to sign in to my Orange account online, but it wants to send me a number to check my login details... of course, I can't receive it!
