how best to dispose of paid for holiday?

Myself and my now ex partner booked and paid in full a holiday to Toronto, Niagra Falls, Montreal, Quebec, flights from Manchester, all accommodation and car, from 18th Aug to 27th Aug.
Anyone know the best way to try and sell it on? Is it easy for someone to change the names on everything?
Such a waste of money but no way could we go on it together and it would be nice to get something back.
Thanks

You could donate it to your favourite hard working customs officer??
1st port of call really is to check to see if the names can be changed etc, if not then you're on a non starter, also who paid for the trip, for instance if it was your other half then rightfully he should be trying to dispose of it not you.

Check the small print on the holiday docs for details of how to cancel and what the penalties are. You should be able to cancel it now with only a small fee to pay. Your tickets should state what the minimum notice is for cancelation.0

we both paid exactly half each. Ah I'll let him keep it and do what he wants with it, I can't be bothered

Life is full of these twists and turns and they are only sent to try us.
Personally I would have a word with your ex and see if he is willing to give you your half of the money and then book yourself a holiday with the cash and go and chill out somewhere nice.
If he does'nt agree to this let me know and i'll be waiting for him on his return with a pair of rubber gloves ready.

Thanks that raised a small smile. Been a horrible day. He moved out a lot of his stuff today while I was at work. The tickets for Canada only arrived yesterday, ironic eh? He has taken the docs with him, unfortunately although I booked it all, researched it all and chose everything, it was put in his name by the holiday company because we were hiring a car and he was the driver.
I guess I have to look at it, that it would have cost me another £500 spending money plus the awfulness of going knowing that we would just split as soon as we returned, at least it's just £1000 I've lost and not all the extras it would have cost, had I gone.
I've just emailed Canadian Affair to see what their cancellation policy is.0 -
Sure today maybe a horrible day but im a firm believer that we each have a quota of crappy days and thats one down for you, hell you're one day into the rest of your life.
Just consider it as his loss, sure he may go but he wont have anyone to share it with and memories are'nt quite as sweet if they are'nt shared with someone you care about.
Chin up, chest out and smile hell it could be a crap load worse, you could run into me at work now that would be a bad day.

you're very kind, thanks. The holiday is meaningless if I'm honest, it is the loss of someone I thought I would spend the rest of my days with, that hurts the most.
anyway.... enough of my drivelling.
Thanks again0 -
Cheer up hon you betta than that!!! Ask him nicely for the dosh don't let him get away with it!!!! How dare he take tickets, has he got someone to go with, if so tell the holiday company....... you could always get a sick note from doctor to cancel holiday and claim on your insurance?
Hope you get it sorted, hey if im free ill go with ya!!!0 -
I've mailed the company to ask about name change/cost etc and cancellation costs. Will let you know as soon as I hear from them. I did mark the email URGENT, but doubt they'll be that interested really, since they have the money anyway, but will keep you updated.0
