Hi everyone
Does anyone know of a cheap monthly tariff for my daughter she wants to spend £10-£15 a month. She is currently with O2 but she really dosen't need to keep the number or phone.
Any help would be good as I've been looking for ages......
Thanks Caroline

depends on how much you use it but you can get £15 Solo from T-mobile (and similar from other networks) which are a bundle of minutes on a SIM for use with an existing phone (needs to be unlocked). The contract can be ended any time with 30 days notice.

Alternatively, get a contract deal with a phone and sell the phone to effectively reduce your tariff, if you don't need the phone.

Use QuidCo to save even more.

Hi clingwood, can your daughter carry on using the phone she's using at the moment? If so, there are some sim-only deals around:

    t-mobile £15 for 350 anytime, any network mins & 650 texts
    vodafone £15 - 225 mins & 100 texts or 150 mins & 600 texts
    O2 £15 - 200 mins & 400 texts
    Orange £15 - 150 mins & 300 texts (unlimited texts eves/w'ends)

With all the above your daughter can keep her number free, just ask O2 for the PAC code to give to the new provider. I like sim-only because you're only on a month's contract and can jump ship if you spot a better offer :D

Obviously don't forget to go through Quidco/other cashback site ;) (e.g. £90 for vodafone sim-only through Quidco)

Hopefully someone will be along with info about where to find good deals, I've heard that Fresh (through the Carphone Warehouse) have had good deals in the past, but I don't know where to find a list of sim-only deals - does anyone know?

I managed to get 100 mins and unlimited texts for £10 a month on Orange on an 18 month contract, with a phone which you could sell.

How did you get on - did u go for any deals?
  • Yeah!! Virgin done me a deal 300 mins and 300 texts for £10 as i was a media customer. Their broadband is a good rate so it might be worth you getting both for £20 per month.
