Mbna 5.9% Offer Has Anybody Got It

Hang on a minute! You have chance to get your debt onto 0% for a year for a 3% fee. If they give you the original card you applied for it'll cost you 5.9% over the same period (if you only make minimum payments).dickdasdedly wrote: »It depends on what they say then to what i do next. If i say im closing the card they might offer me something worthwhile. i hope or appliing for the card has been a complete was of time.
There is, of course, the chance that your circumstances will change in the next 12 months, and maybe LOB deals won't even be around this time next year, but don't cut your nose off to spite your face!
The damage (in the form of a credit search) has been done now. An application for another substitute card may be influenced by the MBNA search.0 -

i understand what your saying. But i wanted this as i was thinking long term because of the way things ar at the minute & if i carn`t get a LOB deal i like i.e by them honouring the advertised rate or threaterning to close the card i will use the 0.0%

How did you apply for your card
Richard WRichard W0 -
I applied for the card through a link from Money Supermarket a couple of weeks ago.0

Is the LOB Deal only for new customers, would you have to close down/ reapply for this card?????0

They offered me 1.9%/9 months or 6.9%/life (3% fee on each) as existing customer.
If rates/fees stay at this level/duration the lower % is just over half the cost - obviously the LOB offers greater peace of mind. What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -

I applied for the mbna 5.9% fee free life of balance offer via martins weekly email i recieved 2 july. The card came today so i rang to make a balance transfer but the customer servise rep said that there was no such offer. I exlained that there was when i made the application. She now has to retrieve the application to varifie the offer which will take 24 hrs. Has anybody else had this problem. Ive noticed that that particular offer has now been withdrawn. This is a pain as i only got the card for that LOB offer. To good to be true maybe

Hi Richard,
I also applied for the MBNA 5.9% fee free life of balance offer last week online and after the call to allow them to try and sell me the PPI, I was accepted was a £5k limit. I also wanted to do a balance transfer as I had another card with a 0% offer that was running out this month so the next day I called them. Despite not having received my card yet I was able to do a balance transfer. I was told by the customer services advisor that there would be a fee to which I responded that there shouldnt be due to the offer I was given. He said he would put the transfer into the system as it works it out automatically and a minute later confirmed I was right. :j
I still havent got my card
but yesterday did another balance transfer. The advisor told me the same thing but once it was in the system confirmed that there was no fee and a 5.9% life of balance. She also confirmed that the 1st balance transfer went through with no fee so guess will just have to wait for the statement to confirm that the 5.9% life of balance interest rate has been applied.
As I said, not got my card yet so not sure what that letter tells you but if I was you I would call them again and ask them to if they can type it into the system to see if a fee is applied without it going through (like they did for me) as that advisor might just not have known about the offer - ie. newbie!

hi
I applied for card from Martin's link, got approved, got credit limit to allow the balance transfers I wanted. When card arrived the back of the paperwork with all the terms and conditions has large print saying 5.9 for lob.
It worked pefectly and I can only guess that others have been unlucky with getting new staff on the other end of the phone.

Hi,
This is possible but you'll need a lot of patience speaking with MBNA. It seems their telemarketing offer this deal but customer services know nothing about it. It may be that they are told to put off customers??? Pessimistic opinion, but given that i've just spent 20 mins trying to convince 3 different people there that i was originally offered this deal and for them to honour it, MBNA does not instill confidence.
Still haven't seen my statement yet so fingers crossed.0
