Email accounts when leaving Virgin Media

I'm currently a Virgin media broadband customer, and have been for about 5 years now, however i've seen cheaper broadband packages elsewhere and am thinking of leaving. I've been using my virgin.net email account as my primary email, and have set up accounts for the rest of my family, and ideally would not like to lose them. Is there any way to leave Virgin broadband, but still keep the email accounts?
Just thought I'd ask here before having to phone their expensive 'help' numbers!

It's not easy, sometimes if you take a dial up account with them they can transfer the email accounts to it.

As PaulK says, you will have to convert your account to a "pay as you go" dial-up one (or whatever Virgin calls it). You will probably have to dial-up every so often; maybe 60 or 90 days, to keep your account active. Probably best to note it in your diary so you don't forget.

When you have change service provider you may also have to change some of the settings in your email program to continue sending emails from your virgin.net addresses.

i just left virgin, they killed my email address the day i was disconnected...in fact it was dead before my broadband had dropped :rolleyes:

I've had a virgin.net email account since it started up all those years ago :D

I signed up for them when they first started. All i need to do is use the "Pay as you go" number once every 3 months or so to keep it live! it's been well over 10 years!!! and i've changed ISP's about 5 times since then

I only keep due to the fact that i'm a horder with everything! (Including email aco!!!!s!!) :D

If they do cut you off, wait 30 day's and go to the site and register for a "Pay as you go" account and put in the same email address as you had with them (It should be freed up by the system by then!). Then you can keep it for as long as you need (or want)... :D
