sky package or virgin package

Options
I am a new customer - are sky and virgin about the same or is one better that the other - and can I negotiate a deal by phone or can you get no better than the offers on their websites - (I want a package inc sports/movies and broadband -) - looking like about £60- £70 a month is as good as I will get ?

£60-£70 a month!? I think you're on the wrong website. You need MoneySpendingExpert...

I don't like spending more than £30 on phone, TV and broadband, however I know others are happy to spend higher. I don't take the Sky Sports or Movies as to me they aren't worth it.

With Sky you get extra channels (granted most of these are the free channels and some are poor - but then they are free channels - you don't pay for them), you also get working interactive and you get the extra football matches on Sky Sports when they offer extra matches via the Red Button.

With Virgin Media cable on the XL package you get Setanta sports channels included, Sky Movies & Sports are extra and you don't get the Reb Button matches.

Sky boxes are fast, digital text is available and are reliable.

Cable boxes are slow, no digital text, limited interactive is poor and slow boxes are a right pain at times.

Cable phone service is the dearest around. However if you get a package price it might be OK as you'll save money elsewhere.

Cable do have some good bundle offers available.

You can get a £50 credit for being referred to cable (let me know if you want referral).
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
