ZoneAlarm wont instal can anyone recommend another good free one please?

I have tried several times to download and install the latest free zonealarm from download.com but it constantly says 'set up was unable to find the msi set up package or patch'

I've always used zonealarm but I have to use something else now as it just will not let me download it.

Thanx I didnt know I could get the installer from the zonealarm site I'll try that.

I did have zonealarm on already but when I updated the latest windows update automatically earlier today when I restarted the computer suddenly zonealarm was blocking everything in site even though the settings were not set that way and I couldnt get on the internet. I shut it down and could get on the net again so I decided to uninstal and reinstal but it wont let me reinstal it. I'll try getting the msi set up from thier site but if that doesnt work I'm going to try removing the update file from microsoft today as I have just read another thread on tech forum and it seems there is a problem with the new update and zonealarm

Tried downloading zonealarm from their site and its still the same cannot find msi package so I have uninstalled the security update and it still wont let me install zone alarm.

I am not sure exactly where to get this msi package from manually I couldnt find anything on zonealarm site and I'm confused with microsoft website does anyone know exactly where to get it from if it will make any difference?

I was going to get that commodo but I read user comments on download.com saying its quite annoying with lots of pop ups but what concerned me most is that a few people said its extremely difficult to remove and if I want to return to zonealarm once this problem is hopefully fixed I will need to remove whatever I put on now completely. I'm downloading the pc tools one at the moment although it doesnt rates highly as the commodo but its the uninstalling thats bothering me

At present Zone Alarm doesn't work with XP/2000 OS after the latest patch...zone alarm blocks all inernet connections as it think windows is an attack. There's hundreds of people complaining on zone alarms forum today. Happened to me too. Zone Alarm has 2 temporary solutions - switch your security settings to medium in zone alarm or remove the windows update. They say they're working on a solution.

I have found some of those posts on the internet and if they remove the update it works ok till a solution is found. I've done that but this problem I have seems to be a separate one by not being able to redownload and instal the program at all. I just constanly get
