We're off on holiday on Sunday evening - so no meal plans for the next 2 weeks (we are cycle touring with a tent so have to find food as we go along). The rest of this week will be to use up last week's meal plan:

today - canneloni with ricotta and red/green peppers
    friday - beef fajitas
    saturday - pork chow mein

on Sunday my brother and his family arrive to house/cat-sit, so I will do buffet style-food for 8 of us. Planning a cold poached salmon, minestrone soup, tabouleh, cheese board and home-made 'artisan' baguettes.

see you all again in 2 weeks time!

Saturday - Dill Dressed Salmon, New Potatoes, Green Beans, Dill & Chive Sauce
Sunday – Minty Lamb Hotpot, Carrots & Peas
Monday – Steak, Chips, Peas & Salad
Tuesday – Herby 3 Fish Pie, Peas & Brocolli
Wednesday – Sweet n Sour Pork, HM Fried Rice & Prawn Crackers

DH has a few days off at the beginning of next week so meal plan may slip a bit, but I can juggle things and see how we go. This meal plan is a little different than I intended but want to make use of the super meat whoopsies I got the other day. Off to put another batch of muffins in the oven now, I hungry reading everyones meal plans lol!

Have a nice holiday Champy :)

alphie25, i agree with angienikki, don't tell him. I just write mine on a white board and hubby has got used to it.

To be honest I think he is just happy to be fed and that there is food there to eat. If your doing the food shopping and cooking alone, like me, just go ahead and plan, he doesn't need to know what the menu is, just put it in front of him!!

this type of menu planning has saved us an absolute fortune and stops me fretting when i am work, about we are going to have tea

Since we moved in together a year ago my boyfriend did all the cooking and also didn't like meal plans but for the past few weeks I've been trying to loose weight and I do better when I've planned what to eat. I've also been doing a lot of the cooking. Mostly I make meals for the 2 of us btu sometimes if it's something he doesn't like I will make it for myself and he will cook a pizza from the oven;. That way he also gets to have pizzas, etc quite a bit and doesn't feel deprived.

Thursday I didn't have scrambled egg for tea, I had a salmon sandwhich as the smoked salmon need to be used up. Then I went out for my induction night for my new job and there was a buffet. I had a little to eat and didn't have anything else when I got home. I got home very late and didn't make any lunch for today so I had a baked potato with egg mayo from the deli. I'll make mushroom risottto for lunch tomorrow and I'm not having an evening meal as I'm going out about 4pm so I'll have a late lunch and have a banana before I set off or take it out with me to snack on.

Saturday: Meatballs (from freezer) with tomato sauce and pasta
