I would really love to meal plan but my OH is having none of it, his view is that it would restrict our lives:mad:. It so appeals to my organised nature though! Anyone else had this issue? Maybe I could plan on the sly:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Alphie25 just dont tell him then
My OH only finds out what we're having when I've finished cooking it. That way I can switch things around if I can't be bothered to do what I had planned and want to do something easier and he's none the wiser and thinks it's what I was gonna do all along.

Hi all
Well last week I was useless at keeping to the plan (did the right meals but the wrong days!) so this week I'm coming up with 7 main meals that I will have at some point during the week!
1. Chicken thighs in chilli dipping sauce, with red peppers, rice and watercress
2. Sausage and mash with peas Monday night
3. Noodle soup, followed by greek salad Friday night
4. Chick fric with rice and peas Saturday night
5. Pasta penne with mozzarella, basil and tomatoes
6. Spanish omelette (made with leftover bits and pieces from the fridge) Thursday night
7. Chicken casserole with sauté potatoes Sunday night - one in the freezer for next week too
Need to buy very little this week - just fresh fruit and veg, and milk.
I'll see if I'm better at sticking to this kind of plan!

Do one and then just give him an either/or option: either you can have today's meal that's planned, or we can have that tomorrow and have tomorrow's meal today - that's what I do sometimes (assuming it's not something already defrosted and needing to be cooked of course)
Or I do a well I've already defrosted the mince/chicken etc ready for that meal so if we don't have it, it will be wastedworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

I just ignore my bf when he says things alongs these lines. Hey, if I'm the one who's gotta cook, I'll do it my way.
I do give him a little bit of choice. He does come shopping with me (I don't like driving), but I only do one big shop a month. I ask him if there is anything in particular he wants so he feels as though he has some say in it.
Then I make full use of my freezer. I batch cook a lot of the meals we eat, and then let him know what we are having for the next few days. If we don't feel like eating what's on the mealplan, it may get shoved to the next day. Most things keep for a couple of days at least.
My plan on my computer show what I have in my freezer, either as meals already cooked or as the meat they are. I then move them around and choose what I want a few days in advance.
So far, my mealplan is as follows:-
Thur - Spag bol
Fri - hamburgers (must buy rolls)
Sat - Chicken Enchilidas
Sun - Roast Pork
There are things for the rest of the month, but in no particular order. Sat may get scrapped depending on if we have a late lunch or pop out for takeaway. Then we will have it Monday. Chicken should be fine in the fridge till then.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
