Hi,
When I connect my ipod to the computer via USB, the computer doesn't recognize it at all, in fact apart from the ipod charging, nothing happens at all. I have opened Itunes and it doesn't display the ipod, the ipod is set to hard drive and my computer doesn't display it. I am a bit puzzled, any suggestions.
Thanks
Jonathan

You can only use your iPod on 1 computer, so if you have set your iPod up on a different computer it will only work on that computer. Alternatively it could be the firmware on the iPod that has got corrupt.
In either case try this;
Plug the iPod into your computer via USB.
Go to start>All Programmes>iPod Software>Restore
This application will format your iPod and reinstall the firmware on it so will need to start again and put all your music onto it.
I see this problem a lot with iPods, the above set should get it working in no time...however, if you wish to troubleshoot it Apple style see link below.

Hi
If you are using Windows XP do you have more than one user registered on the PC? If so, if one of them is still logged on, even if you have signed in, the PC will not recognise the IPod. Log the other user off and everything should be tickety-boo

Reseting ipod then connecting it again did the trick.

Hi Dude. I'm a bit confused to what you are pointing to. The article that you have stated also confirms that you can use 1 iPod on more then one computer. What am I missing?Dude wrote:Beninio88 try readying Apple's FAQ http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60920#faq6
