O2 complaint re: I phone

I have trawled but could not find anything else on this one.
Did anyone else pay the upgrade on O2 to get the I phone and is now annoyed that they have released a new version?
My husband upgraded sortly after the I phone came out, he also paid over £100 (not sure of amount - he was afraid to tell me!) he is now really annoyed at the launch of the new I phone, especially as the improvements that have been made are bad faults on the new one and also that it uses a different technology to the last one which is what was supposed to make the last model so superior but actually made it's internet access go so slowly.
He is thinking of contacting O2 and complaining but I wanted to know if anyone else has and if so what did you get out of them?

I don't really understand what you're complaining about.
Your husband bought an iPhone on O2. Shock horror, some time down the line there's a new one out. O2 has already stated that existing iPhone customers can upgrade for £99 (same cost as a new customer - i.e. there's no penalty for already being locked in to a contract), or free if they're on a £45 a month or higher contract.
I don't really understand what your grounds for complaint are.0 -
I don't think there is any cause for complaint. As the above poster stated there will always be a new phone coming out during the life of your contract (the only difference is that the original iphone was unsubsidised). O2 are making it either free or relatively cheap for people who should theoretically be lockied into their original 18 month iphone contract to get the new one. This doesn't happen with any other handset launch. If this has been of any use please click on THANKS, it makes me look good.0

I've looked at this posting several times but, try as I might, I can't work out what the bit I've coloured in red is trying to say.
Can anyone explain it?
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

Which is of course nonsense.0
