Cheap broadband package for heavy users?

Options
Hi I have just moved into a new apartment in Norwich.

I am a heavy internet user regularly downloading linux distros (can be as much as a few gbs per distrobution), playing online games and streaming media.

At the moment I don't have a connection to the internet

I have noticed that my new place cannot receive cable, which is annoying as I am loath to pay for a phone line I will not use, this drives up the price of the internet.

Can anyone recommed to the me a) the cheapest unlimited package b) the best unlimited package?

Please include a modem/router (I don't have an adsl) and the cost of a telephone line

Thanks in advance

P.s I don't currently have a phone line active. Who do I need to set one up with?

Lukily BT say there is already a line at my property but they have computer issues and I need to call back. Hopefully it will be quick and easy to get a line up and running.

Then its just a case of choosing a prodiver.

I don't have a TV so sky isn't much use. I'll have a good search around.

if Sky/cable are a no-no then if available go with O2 or Be for your usage and needs. Only sensible option. Failing that one of the Entanet resellers but check which packages unless you are happy to run downloads offpeak when it shouldn't be too bad
