  • I think this is an isolated cases and I presumed they are professional and certified driving instructors dedicated to provide the best experience in mastering road safety and various driving techniques.

    Hi

I just had my first driving class with BSM. It was booked for two hours on an automatic. The instructor trove to a quiet street and spoke for an hour...I drove for 45 min and ended with another 15 min of talking.

The instructor said he would like to book two hour classes as he likes to talk for the first 10 min and the last 10 min...

I spoke to my other friends and they all thought it was very excessive.

Considering they reckon an outstanding learner needs 45-50 hours...I cancelled the remaining classes as I would like to spend more time on the road. I do appreciate the fact that the instructor needs to explain but this was too much...

What a waste of my money.
  • I am so sorry to know that you had a bad experience with this driving school. My friend was also very disappointed by their services so he advised me to select some other Port Macquarie Driving School rather than this. Anyway, thanks for the reviews.

Particularly idiotic spammer more like - Port Macquarie is in Australia, not England!
  • I learnt to drive with BSM and found the lessons very useful. It was a long time ago though, so I cannot say what they are like now.
  • I have had the worst BSM instructor ever. They do try and prolong lessons by sitting for an hour at a time and not practicing the actual driving enough that gets you through. They are highly disorganised and they don't explain things properly because they want to get more money out of you and prolong the lessons. My instructor never turned up on time and one time I was waiting a whole hour. They don't cover the topics quick enough. They don't priortise for example you could be driving on roads where there is nothing happing much for far too many lessons and don't give enough practice on tricky junctions.

  • I wouldn't bother booking with storm driving school. I wanted to learn to drive and googled cheap driving lessons and found storm driving school who were offering 10 for £99. The site is quite basic if you click on the offer it doesn't give much info and at the bottom of the page there is a very tiny line which says terms and conditions which you aren't really looking at.I rang the number to book my lessons and the adviser on the phone told me i would get 10 lesson for £99 then i would have to pay the hourly rate after the 10 lessons.so i was happy with that. went ahead and booked my lesson and managed to get a lesson in 2 days time.
you can imagine my dismay when my instructor arrived i paid the £99 and when we was going through the paperwork and the instructor gave me the terms and condition he pointed out that I would get 3 x 2 hour lessons to be taken on a weekly basis then the remaining 4 hours are reserved for just before my test.. After i have had my 6 hours i have to start paying the hourly rate. This was not explained to me when storm was signing me up. Looking at the terms and conditions any cancelling are required 48 hours in advance yet they had booked my first 48 hours from when i rang so in theory if i was to cancel under their terms and conditions i would be liable for a cancellation fee. I didn't carry on with the lessons as wasn't happy and did ring up the company but the adviser wasn't helpful at all. Companies like this should not be allowed to operate like this.I would advise anyone looking for driving lessons not to go for gimmicks as these type of companies use these gimmicks to hook you and then it cost more to learn to drive than necessary. Its their way of making money out of you. Let say you pay 10 for £99 you have 6 hours and leave the 4 in reserve whats stopping an instructor from saying you need another 60 lessons at £25 per knowing that you are aware you still have 4 hours in reserve so you will end up paying over the odd when you may only need half of that.
