Transfering from HSBC ISA to another provider

I have a form from my new provider, but I'm unsure of the procedure with HSBC which I hold a standard cash ISA I'm transfering out.

Do I mail the transfer form to HSBC, or take it to the local branch, or?

I don't want HSBC screwing up the transfer.

It's not a notice cash ISA, so I assume I don't have to provide any notice period?

Slightly confused genny!:o

It should say on the form, but I think you return it to the new provider and they make contact with HSBC. Keep tabs on it though and chase up if nothing happens after 30 days.

I've just checked, it appears the form needs to be send to the original provider, not the new one. So I'll call in at lunchtime and make sure they can action it.

It is more common now for the new intended ISA provider to provide a transfer form for you to fill in, and then they do all the 'leg-work' to get the ISA transferred from your old provider. You don't say who your new intended provider is, but it may be worth asking them if they will supervise the transfer.

I'm moving from HSBC to Icesave - the form they gave me says to send it to Icesave at the very top so I suspect it'll be on the form somewhere.

Thanks, the new provider (Ruffler) sent a signed form accepting the transfer, I had to fill in my account details of the old account and send to the old provider (HSBC) for the transfer. Guess each one works in a different way. Hopefully it'll all be smooth!
