Beware when buying Lexmark!!! I bought their X4580 all in one printer/scanner/copier for my office in France. I got it in PC World, and had to give them my address when I was paying. They said it was economic on cartridges. WRONG!! It eats cartridges. And what is worse, the cartridges are ONLY AVAILABLE in PC World, Dixons or Currys in UK. This was not mentioned to me or I'd never have bought the thing. I can't even buy cartridges from Lexmark!!! Lexmark more or less said "too bad".

Go for a cheap Samsung laser printer. I have the Samsung ML2570 and the quality is excellent. I only buy genuine toners as I have had hit and miss results from refills.
If it is just text and essays and you are happy with black and white, the laser printer is the way to go.0
