There isnt one really, you have to send your bills back to claim back cashback. So you pay for the line rental each month, but can claim it back later. The only real hint of a catch is that the cashback conditions can be fairly strict and many users forget or dont claim back properly (at the right time etc). If its done right it wont cost you anything at the end of the 12 months.

looks like they take £30 out of your bank every month then at the end of the period you claim back £360 at the end of the period. Also you can't change the phone. Also if the phone get lost or nicked you wont be able to cliam your cash back. (assuming you cancel insurance after 3 months).

No, in that case you just become another unsecured creditor and get in line.

Some companies do give 12 months free line rental, but tie you into an 18 month contract.

Some companies tie you into a 12 month contract, but you have to send in bill 12, and cannot cancel before you receive the cashback, meaning you might have to be connected for 13 months just to be sure.

Sometimes you're tied into a 12 month contract but have to send in bills in stages, including your 15th month.

Also, sometimes the money is credited to your airtime account instead of by cheque or BACS, meaning that you have to remain connected to receive this money, and if you cancel the contract, the money might then get paid back to it's source, rather than the customer.
