Using a mobile abroad to dial a local number abroad
Does anyone know how the charging works if I take my (T-Mobile) mobile abroad and use it to phone a local number. E.G. say I take the phone to Spain and then use it to call a number in Spain.
On a slightly different note, how about if I use it to call my mate who is also in Spain with me with his own mobile?
Thanks in advance. RG

You are making an international call from an international location - you will pay £££s per minute.rgreen001 wrote:Does anyone know how the charging works if I take my (T-Mobile) mobile abroad and use it to phone a local number. You are still making a call to the UK from an international location. You will pay £££s and you friend will pay about £1/min to receive your call.rgreen001 wrote:On a slightly different note, how about if I use it to call my mate who is also in Spain with me with his own mobile?
If you are going for a while buy a Spanish sim card. See this article:

If you call a number in the country you're in you pay the network rate that you're on plus a markup. It won't be dirt cheap but it won't be outrageous either for a same country call.
Calling your mate's UK mobile while he's stood next to you will land you both with some hefty charges - you for an international call back to the UK (+ markup), him with the UK-Spain charge.
Send texts - it's cheaper
