Want to upgrade my phone with Orange to a Nokia N95 8gb but their website keeps saying it's out of stock.
Having spoken to them they are saying there is a problem with the phone and they wont release it untill it is sorted.

Anyone know what this problem is?

Friends have got the phone and loads of places still selling them so are Orange pulling the wool over my eyes??

  • They're still stocking in their high street jobs as far as I can tell.

That's what I thought, so I've no idea why the Geordies keep telling me they're having problems with it!

I was once told that the Orange high street shops are just a franchise of sorts, they are separate from Orange itself, and that's why handset availability often varies between the two.

I know that Orange and Nokia have had a lot of dispute over the N95. Something to do with Orange wanting to charge or give it for free or something, either way, Nokia weren't happy about it. As such, it's hard to get an N95 with orange.

Orange is rubbish anyway. Wait until your contract runs out and then switch. Their customer service is terrible, their network coverage is the worst of all the networks, get out when you can, I wish I had.

Beg to differ jd87....their coverage is brilliant where I am, customer service has been excellent, replacement handsets next day, answer phones fairly quickly (and in English....well,,,Geordie)

They also do the cheapest package I can find anywhere.....if you can find me a company that will do me a top of the range handset (admittedly out of stock at the moment) for free, 750 inclusive minutes, unlimited texts and free Broadband connection for £25 a month then I'll happily swap.
And there is no way I'm doing cashback as they're just a scam...as my girlfriend will testify!

Most retail shops have them in stock, the only problems have been with the music facilities on the handsets, ours in retail are from a different batch so are working perfectly, whereas direct have got a bad batch i believe

Thanks nomino...I'm also waiting on the C902 Sony but that's out of stock too.

Rather have the N95 if possible. I'll give it a couple of weeks.

In reality, I'd rather have the new Sony C905 but i dont think it'll be out untill November!
