I'm really getting into money saving at the minute. I'm a terrible cook but I'm giving it a good go.
Last week did my meal plan spent £40 less than I normally would...... and hubby is already starting to moan about the fridge being nearly empty ( its not empty just not full of stuff that I'll throw away at the end of the week)
He likes to have meat with every meal and screws his nose up if i've cooked something different that he has never tried.
Ladies how did you talk your men into OS money saving? Hes driving me mad
Also while I'm here I just want a few tips for freezing. I'm going to start cooking in batches. Just would like to know whats the best container to put the food in and we havent got a mircowave so is everything ok to defrost on its own?
thanks

Cannot help with your husband but I do have a money saving tip for you.
An empty fridge uses a lot more electricity. But empty plastic bottles in to fill the airspace. This will stop the cold air escaping everytime you open the door. You could use bottles full of water or juice if you would normally drink the stuff.0 -
thanks for the tip........ I would of never of thought of that

Does your hubby do the shopping? Has he got an idea of how far that £40 actually goes especially if he wants meat every night? Maybe he could do a meal plan for a week & price it up on Tesco / asda online....and then compare a month / 6 months of shopping like he did against your plans....and then plan what you could do with the money YOU are saving;)0 -
withdraw conjugal rights - immediately0

But there is no need for to lose out. I offer my services for significantly less than the £40 you are saving!0

Suddenly you have become allergic to spending "too much" money...;)
Seriously, if he's not interested then he has no real right to complain about what you buy......:p
He also could be directed towards a "healthier" diet that doesn't include such a high level of meat......the fact that it is moneysaving is a bonus!0 -
