HM Yoghurt - What went wrong?

Getting desperate now, tried both methods last night, placing mix unheated into Lakeland Bulk Yogurt maker and heating first then adding yogurt and placing in warmed slow cooker as I've done successfully loads of times. This morning I've woken up to warmed milk in both containers!
Is anyone else having problems? Could it be the drop in temperature overnight? My kitchen isn't particularly cold.
Would appreciate any advice at all. I'm wondering now if it could be the milk as I buy a box of 12 UHT at a time. I also switched to Yeo organic yoghurt as that has been recommended.
Please someone take pity on me before I crack up! I used to enjoy my yogurt making...
(Have switched yogurt maker back on for the day and boosted heat for 5 minutes in the slow cooker and wrapped it up again. Let's see what that does...)The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Still struggling, if anyone can help please. There seem to be a lot of people out there who are happy with this yogurt maker...
For anyone reading this who might be having problems with the yoghurt maker I thought that I'd update it as I think that I've cracked it!
I've changed to using whole uht milk (4% fat) and don't add dried milk anymore. No more gloopy yoghurt! I've also been using a couple of spoonfuls from the previous batch for a starter and can't honestly remember when I last bought yogurt! Probably about a month ago, and I make a batch most days.
