New Broadband Packages

Options
I have a contract with BT that is due to expire in July and because of a range of problems I want to move Broadband providers. The reason we chose them originally was that we had to get connected to the phone grid and it was the cheapest option.

I live in the South West and so cable broadband is restricted, but otherwise am looking for an uncapped (or high enough not to worry about it) download limit, as good a speed as I can get and a good price.

I am in the position to combine line rental or a new Sky package with broadband if the price is right, and have both Orange and O2 contracts if there is an viable add on with them as well.

There may also be additional cash back incentives that I am not aware of that could come in handy when signing up to a new contract.

I would also like a provider with good customer support, particularly for billing as this is one area that has frustrated me in the past.

I am aware of the varying bandwidths and read a moneysupermarket survey that ranked 02, Sky and TalkTalk broadband in the top three providers in terms of bandwidth provided. Does anyone have any additional resources?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you actually know who has equipment in your exchange as that will be the biggest constraint to who you go with?

Unfortunately I do not. Do you know where I can get this information? I will then do some digging and come back.

You should be able to find out who has equipment in your exchange here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php
But do bear in mind that there are many many ISPs who don't have their own equipement - they are resellers who use another company's network to provide service. So you may be able to go with an ISP not listed at your exchange if they are a reseller who uses one of the companies who are listed.

    Thanks, The results were

The following services are available in your location: BT Wholesale ADSL
    BT Wholesale ADSL Max
    BT Wholesale SDSL
    AOL LLU
    TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
    Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
    Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)

    and they state

This website lists operators who run their own network and deliver entirely their own broadband services to end users (i.e. they are not simply reselling someone else's service). Whilst there are maybe 15-20 operators who fulfil this criteria, there are literally hundreds of other ISPs reselling their services.

Where is the best place to find which companies these services re-sell to. I can then progress the thread to a comparison of available services. [FONT=&quot]
