in all honestly, it shows that you are a lajitamit company, and NOT a fly by night. if i didnt have my licences and exemptions etc there is no way i would have the contracts i do....Work to live= not live to work0 -

If your main business is the disposal of waste then fair enough but if you are just a normal business that has to get rid of a small amount of waste it just smacks of moneymaking by the governmentAlways ask ACAS0 -

a big business pays to get their waste picked up, so where ever they get to recycle/dispose of hteir waste has got to have the right licences, as a small business you either pay the local council for business waste bags to get rid of your waste, or you dispose of it oyurself, as soon as you transport your waste you need a carriers licence, and also a pay at the amenity site etc as you are a BUSINESS......not a private household.Work to live= not live to work0 -

its still a laughable law that is far to strict, an electrician disposing of a shower should IMO not be subject to having to pay a carrying license
thats life though....one great rip off :cool:Always ask ACAS0 -
Wonderful, so when i have some rewiring done later in the year not only will i pay more due to part p regs, the bill will most likely go up to help pay the electricians waste carriers licence.:mad:0

They have licences. I used to be a manager of a large retail shop next to comet and most stores have a lock up at the rear of the store which has to be a certain distance away from the building and this contains old white goods etc. They are picked up every so often, and then disposed of correctly.0 -

While it seems an obscene amount of paperwork for self employed handy-men who occasionally take bits and bobs from their customers, there was a point to the law...
One of it's main aims is to crack down on fly-tipping in farmers fields, lay-bys, etc. which has been a massive problem for years now.
A farmer I know has had his lane blocked several times by large truck loads of construction waste - and then had to pay to legally dispose of it!
As with so many of Labour's new laws (such as making every third adult register to prove they arnt a pedophile), it's a good idea that's been ill-thought through and effects too many people!0 -

Very ill thought out, and I'm not having a go at you but pray tell how this law is going to stop flytipping?Always ask ACAS0 -
By allowing police and council to inspect waste carriers, find where they are going, etc. I suppose.
Problem is, rules like this only effect people responsible enough to obey them!0
