Just say that you've been keeping a log of threats with dates, times & screenprints on the advice of the Police, who would be quite keen to get involved should anything happen.

That should be enough, I would have thought..

Don't worry,he's all talk.Hacking into a PC isn't as easy as it's made out to be.I very much doubt if this 14 year old is capable.Copying a picture off a web page isn't hacking!!

Blowing up a PC remotely is impossible - unless you've got some C4 hidden under your desk.

Hacking MSN, is nigh on impossible, especially for a child.

Using a brute force style attack on someone's password reminder, especially someone you know, is simple, so odds are she could be "hacked" that way.

If she feels unsafe, she needs to log into MSN, go to her email, go to options and change her password AND PASSWORD REMINDER (the common way to get in) to something nonsensical - if it asks for your first pet, type the name in backwards or something akin to that.

That will sort out MSN and personal networking sites.

    To secure your PC.

    1) Download and run an antivirus program to check for any pre installed trojans (which allow access to your pc remotely). I recommend AVAST - it's free and powerful.

    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Download a decent firewall. (Zone alarm is ok) Unless you have a decently moderm router - that should have one built in.

    - Really once common sense on passwords has taken place, and your PC is safe, there's no chance of being hacked.

As for hacking jargon, IMO you'll end up looking silly, but simply say:

"I've already got your IP address from the MSN conversation log*, if you continue to pester me I'll set up a Continued Distributed Denial of Service attack on your PC, and you won't be able to get on the internet".

    * You can't really get an IP address from an MSN conversation, but you could if he/she sent a file over at anytime - when the file transfer is in progress, simply go Start > Run > CMD - then type in Netstat -a, the IP address should stick out like a sore thumb something like (abcd.aol.isp121) You'd then ping that address to resolve the actually IP address.

    That should do him.

cant you just block & delete them in messenger for the moment?

if you have messenger plus live installed, there is an script where it can find out the ip of the computer that the person is using even if you dont do a file transfer
