A question for those who went through vol repossession

Crumbs, you lot make me feel like a such a schmuck! I went back the other week to scrub the floors of our old place and polish the kitchen cabinets and was feeling guilty because I couldn't face doing the garden and had forgotten to take one of those clippy things to make the loo smell nice.... Um, I think I might have to let go of the guilt now.

Lily, how funny! I actually was going to do all of the above, then I 'had a word with myself'.
Don't be feeling guilty. The mortgage company employs 'agents' that do the garden and keep the property 'neat and tidy' -well they have with my old house anyway.

:rotfl: OMG! So was I!! Not sure if I will bother now lol, personally I will be taking everything I can, I own nothing the OR will be interested in or class as an asset anyway. It will help the new house feel more like home.
Hope everything goes ok for you, MrsST, we are planning on moving this weekend and leaving our house to be volo repo'd as well. It's quite a scary thing, but commonly done I've now learnt!

Thank you all.
We are going to strip the house of anything that we can use/sell or keep
Oh, and I won't be cleaning or polishing........that's one of the great things about going into vol repo, no house cleaning or shining to try and sell it, lmao!0 -
Anything that can come out should come out! Might need a plumber to help with your bathroom suite though! :beer:Bankruptcy Supporters Club No.1790

By all means MrsST take what you can....what have you to lose???

hiya i took everything carpets fittings etc and gave away anything i couldnt use as was going to live with my parents with my 2 little girls (now 20 and 17 !) it was one of the worst days of my life posting those keys to our home back through the letterbox and driving away !! but life goes on and it has and im now happy ! word of warning it took 10 years for them to surface with the debt of the shortfall in the mortgage( and they had my parents address so knew where i lived !) that then turned out to be my main reason for bankruptcy as it was in excess of £18,000 grand ! good luck paula x0

Oh ok, then. I won't go back and put a half-baked loaf of bread in the oven, pot pourri, freshly ground coffee etc....0

I have known bankrupts try and take everything with them. Carpets, lights, fittings, sockets, switches, the lot.
One even tried to take the kitchen with him.0
