Horse racing at Yarmouth if there is a meeting on while you are there, banger racing also in yarmouth/caister.
Norwich castle, Norwich cathedral.
I wouldnt be driving through to Cambridge about 80 miles when there is loads to see and do in Norfolk...and Suffolk (if you have to):rotfl:
There are loads of fantastic beaches in Norfolk, lots of them sandy as opposed to stoney, some quiet with nothing there and some with amusements etc next to them0 -

Definitely recommend Petites Farm - we had a brilliant day there and a lot of the attractions were included in the entry price (I think I may have got vouchers for a £1 or so off each of us from the Yarmouth Tourist booklet).
We also went to a christening once at Oulton Broads and I think there is a fair bit to do there - maybe someone else knows more?!0 -

Nicholas Everitt Park - It is quite nice with a reasonable play park, broads frontage and there is a small pets corner (additional cost) and it is where you can catch a broads trip. The cafe in the middle is good value and quality for the money. On some evenings there is power boat racing as well. http://www.lobmbc.com/fixtures.html
Other things to do - Stock cars are on 3 days a week 11 per adult though, and also start at 4pm on a Sunday, other nights are later. http://www.yarmouthstadium.co.uk/index_main.html
And surprisingly no-one has suggested the nearest beach? Gorleston is a nice beach, with a manned lifeguard and safe bathing area, dog free and has a quaint charm, free parking is also a bonus.
If you do a Norwich day - go for the afternoon - After 12:30 the Park and Ride sites are £1.60 per car full (it i on a per car basis and not per person) There are 6 sites around Norwich http://www.norfolk.gov.uk/consumption/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=278. And in Norwich - Norwich Castle is entertaining for a range of ages,
If you want a full Norwich day get a family ticket on the First Bus X1 service http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/easterncounties/easterncounties/timetables/index.php , up to every 15 minutes during the day or the Anglian service A47 (low level access) http://www.angliancoaches.co.uk/timetables/data/A47.pdf . I would recommend parking at Somerfield (Now under reconstruction to Morrisons) in Gorleston for free parking, and a 5 minute walk to the bus stop on Gorleston High St.
Gt Yarmouth Time and Tide Museum is a worth a visit, an award winning museum and has a few bits for children. http://www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk/default.asp?Document=200.44 - A good option if it is wet. Last time I was there, there is a small P&D carpark over the road, but the road it is on was restriction free (though Yarmouth is in the precess of making resident parking areas)
There is also a ferry service which goes to Pettits from Gt Yarmouth Quay in the centre to Reedham, which makes a nice round trip and also gives reduced entry costs. http://www.cyberforth.com/SouthernBelle/
Depending when you are there, and if you have boys/girls - Snetterton Race Track can be good, if you go on a Sunday there is a large Sunday Market, there may be some racing going on and there is a great toy shop in the middle as well. Looks like a Lotus Elise Challenge £10 a head https://tickets.motorsportvision.co.uk/calendar/race-event-details.asp?ProductID=3655
Mid Norfolk Railway http://www.mnr.org.uk, and the Wroxham to Aylsham railways http://www.bvrw.co.uk/bvrw/index.htm are also good alternatives to Sheringham, and Wroxham is nice to wonder around.
I think you are just going to miss the Lowestoft Air Festival though http://www.lowestoftairfestival.co.uk/
A mid week wet day - Depending on Child ages again - http://www.adventureislandplaypark.co.uk/
My own opinion is not to bother with Caister Car Museum though.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.0 -

If you are going to travel around-North Norfolk coast is lovely-Cromer and Wells on Sea- you can also go on a sealion watching boat trip.
Enjoy your trip!!!!
I agree that North Norfolk is beautiful, spent many family holidays there when my daughter was younger.
Seal trips (not sealions!) were a real favourite, not sure about taking a baby though. If the waether is good, then beaches at Wells and Holkham, as previously mentioned , are fabulous.
We were always able to pick up books of discount vouchers, try the tourist office or in pubs or other tourist attractions in the area.
Also the Norfolk Broads area is fantastic.[/CENTER]Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0
