Internet radio will probably work thru quite slow broadband, once you get the software sorted out.

You could always try WinAmp and use Shoutcast radio, plenty of classical channels.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

You could use an FM transmitter from your tv/skybox to locally transmit the signal to a radio in the kitchen.

This is what I do too. In fact I have 2 methods

    1. A low power FM transmitter attached to Freeview Tuner. YOu need to have an adaptor to connect the audio leads and a way of powering it permanently. I cobbled together all this for under £10.
You also need a way of finely adjusting the audio level to get good sound - one for the techies then.

    2. A Linex USB FM transmitter connected to the computer. It is powered from the USB port so just 1 connection. Again, adjusting the audio level is a bit delicate.

If you can get get good internet radio sound on a computer and already have wireless internet at home, it could well be worth buying a dedicated internet radio, There is one on Ebuyer I think, for about £37 + P&P. Currys have also been flogging off an wifi radio adaptor for £35, to connect to an audio system.

This nifty little app has classic FM on its list of stations. Standalone app, no need to worry about popup blocking or anything.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
