How many times have you bought something from IKEA and had to take it back because something was missing or damaged?
When in customer services ask them to refund your petrol costs for having to come back to the shop.
They have a policy to refund return mileage but they don't advertise it.
I live about a 12 mile round trip away and recevied around £6.00.
They asked me for my postcode and the computer worked outy the mileage.
If you don't ask you don't get!

Very helpful. I noticed that the US Ikea has recently started offering a web-ordering service so you don't have to go and ruin your day with the "Ikea Experience". Hopefully we'll get that here soon0

Yes we got compensation when we had to return for missing parts.A cupboard door had been drilled the wrong way,so they just handed over a new box and refunded the petrol in cash.
Love their restaurant too for its refillable drinks .0 -
Should have gave them an American Zip Code that would have boosted the mileage ;D0

My nearest Ikea is near Glasgow - I'm in Belfast... feel a shopping trip coming up soon so I'll buy with a bit more confidence knowing that
