I'd 100% try this first - just as a start before looking at anything else:
Start > Run > CMD
Type in
SFC /SCANNOW
Then restart.

Its worth a go! Just tried the scannow but it reports that I mustr be an administrator running a console session...
Why don't they put it in plain English!!!0 -
OK, then - you need to log in as an administrator on your machine - if it's a work laptop contact your IT dept. If not go:
Start > settings > control panel > user accounts > manage accounts
Set yourself as an admin, and restart then try again.
Alterantively go to:
C:\Windows\System32
Find CMD.exe and right click, and select "run as administrator"

Will give it a try. Says that it may take some time!
Thanks again. Will let you know what happens.0 -
Sadly no joy. It did say there were some issues which it could not fix.0
-
If it's found unfixable errors you'll need a format - those are windows "special" files, the important ones.
Sorry I couldn't help more!

Thanks for trying. If I do reinstall everything, is there a way that I can guarantee getting all my documents back - emails (Windows Mail) in particular?0
