Both in Belguim, but different places.
Brussels is the capital, but IMHO Bruges is better for a visit.

You fly to Brussels and then get a train

Or better for many get Eurostar to Brussels and then a (free with your Eurostar ticket) train

It's Bruges or Brugge depending on the language. Not Brugges.

It is also very close to (almost part of) Ostend, which is served by car ferries from England.

It's a lovely place.. lots of fantastic buildings and horse & carts everywhere.. very lovely.. :) Also, you can cycle around the place really easily if you chose to as it's so flat :)

The train in Brussels is in the basement of the airport, so not far to travel, and it's all very pleasant :)

Taxi from Bruges to Brussels airport is around 150Euro, approx £120? roughly.. (if you can afford it)... But the train is very cheap.. about £10 per person I think

I went to Brussels, Bruges and Gent during easter and I have to say Brugges is just lovely. I took Eurostar to Brussels and then train to the other destinations. The trains are quite cheap, probably just over 10 Euros from Brussels to Bruges. Stayed in a hostel there and that was a great place and would certainly recommend that too. Try the canal boat trip! The city is just awesome!

Ryanair used to fly to Ostend (in the air just 20 mins) and a short trip by the coach that was ready and waiting took us straight to Brugge.

I don't know if anyone else flies to Ostend now, might be worth checking.
