I think there's some 'rule' (Banking Code or whatever?) that says institutions MUST list closed issue rates on their websites?bubblesbonbon wrote: »I swear that I couldn't get the drop down for closed accounts when I tried an hour ago (even sent a feedback comment)
It's annoying, but I find the best place to find out is this very website. There's always someone checking rates and reporting back (for which I'm very grateful).Bit cheesed off that they haven't told me directly about the drop...
I initiated a move from YBS (at 5.55%) to A&L (at 6.25%) in April. Within a couple of weeks though, YBS had lifted to 5.75% (for >£20K) and A&L had dropped from 6.25% to 6%. Had I known this was going to happen (A&L was to be expected following April's BOE rate cut, but the increase at YBS was most definitely not expected), I possibly wouldn't have moved for only 0.25%...and certainly not at the busiest time of the year!0
