Same happened to me this week.
Was selling a phone (that I'd bought in error last month... ) and was pleased to get a bit more than I'd bought it for.
Within a few minutes, I had an email from eBay saying that they'd withdrawn the item because the "buyer's" account had been used without their permission.
My initial thought was that they'd just changed their mind and were trying to get out of it.
However, since yesterday I've been having a stream of emails from 'PayPal' and 'eBay' telling me to post the phone to Nigeria.
Got a feeling the account used had a Hotmail address on it....0 -
This has all just happened to me too. Lost my ebay account and get no response to any requests for help from ebay. I'm hotmail too and off to check my blocked right now!Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include an annual free trip around the Sun.0

Yes. Both ebay uk and ebay.com had been put on block list. Now I've allowed them and changed hotmail password was able to reinstate and change ebay password and found a stream of replies from ebay Also changed pp password. Although I explained what had been done ebay didn't seem to understand that the block on my hotmail account had made it impossible to access any of their helpful instructions in response to my endless pleas for help.
Could someone who can put this more clearly than me contact ebay and let them know?Living on Earth can be expensive, but it does include an annual free trip around the Sun.0 -

Well, after 'selling' the 'phone on Saturday I reckon I've had at least a dozen emails from the scammers - variously 'from' eBay, PayPal and the buyer....
So far resisting the temptation to reply that I'm not stupid and no I won't send the phone to Nigeria!
By the way, how at risk is my eBay account, now that I've been the seller in one of these scams? Presumably they have my email address.
Not exactly looking forward to relisting the phone (nor the other two I've got waiting to be sold).0 -
When you relist the phone, put the option on for immediate payment by Paypal. The auction will not end until that payment is made. Also stick on the usual about it must be a confirmed address etc.
I have sold a couple of high value items and only list this way for these. Touch wood, I've not had a problem.0 -
um the hackers have been busy my ds couldnt access his hotmail or ebay account last week .he got stung for nearly 900+ quid .guess we all need to be wary.0
