Ebay account 'hijacked'.... what next?

Hiya guys.....
There's been some very weird stuff going on with my ebay acc, which I am trying to sort.... but now I am the point where I am stuck.
Yesterday I go an email to say that a bid of mine had been retracted
then another one to say that my listing of GHD hair straighteners had been pulled because it didn't comply....... I didn't have a listing for GHDs, and if I owned them, I would not be selling them! And I couldn't log onto my account as it said my password was wrong......
So I contacted ebay, who sorted out the listings stuff and advised that I change the password for my email account (done) and for my ebay account....and that is where I am stuck! I am following the on-screen instructions, but the email with the link that I am supposed to follow is not coming to my email account, suggesting to me that those details have been changed..... I have contacted ebay, and they keep sending me the same automated message.
Does anyone know if I am likely to have to re-register under a different name? I don't want to as I had a good feedback score.....
Sorry for the ramble

check your blocked senders in your email. my hacker had added everything @bay.com to that to ensure i wouldn't see any emails!!
they must have had a busy weekend. although for once i'm quite impressed by ebay - that they stopped the account because it clearly looked dodgy! live help sorted it all out for me. good luck:happyhear0 -
If you are not getting the email notifications it might be that the hacker got into your emaila s well?
There appears to have been a number of problems this weekend, not just with ebay but generally with email accounts. I am wondering if a ISP has been under attack..but without finding every thread on every forum it would be difficult to prove as I don't recall anyone actually mentioning which ISP they use.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi,
I have had a similar problem too this weekend.
It was my first listing - I was selling a mobile phone - the listing ended and the winner was from Nigeria! The listing was pulled by ebay as he had intercepted someones ebay account in the States!! The person in the States didn't want to buy my phone and I have had to re-list the item  Now whenever I go into my hotmail email it freezes - hope that this person in Nigeria hasn't done something to my email account as I just don't know what to do

Hmm, so could it be a Hotmail hack I wonder? I'm not techie but I am sure I've heard it happen before.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've just been into my hotmail account and done as SarahNeedle has done which is change the password on them - then I opened up the ebay email to find that this bloke has 'sent' funds through Paypal  presumably they will be withdrawn again though as I guess these funds have come from the American's Paypal account
.
What a bloomin' mess - its enough to put me off using ebay! And my hotmail account is still freezing:eek: :eek:Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
looks like it's all a hotmail hack then.... i tried to trace the IP address that changed my password and it went through ilford and then i couldn't tell (not that that tells you much about the location anyway).
in a way, a general hotmail hack is kind of easier to deal with (for me!) - not my fault for doing something stupid if they got into so many accounts?! (or is that clutching at straws!):happyhear0 -
Right, all passwords for Hotmail and Ebay changed, and have contacted Live help re: freezing email account so lets see what happens now

Just checked the blocked sender list and @ebay.co.uk was on there..... and I have Hotmail, so it sounds like it is a Hotmail hack!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0
