    hello all
Well, I'm still trying to clear the laundry out of my bedroom so I'm in tomorrow then! Perhaps I'll finally get to the bottom of it - done about 3 quarters by now so the last quarter is do-able. Then I'm going to set up tv and dvd player in there so I can exercise in peace and watch desperate housewives (nothing like their skinny a**** to get you motivated.)

Maboo and Mudbath! Honestly, you're so competitive wanting to be first!

and Mudbath, I totally understand how your Dad's interest and praise means so much, sounds healthy to me!

DD2 had wonderful birthday weekend but it was so expensive and I felt I couldn't let her down because it had been promised. Cringing while paying, frightened to phone bank now.

And the weather! Absolutely lashed down! It supposed to be sports day on Tuesday for DD2 so I hope it doesn't get cancelled.

    Good luck everyone:T

OOOo... I've found a home for DD's old bed via Freecycle :D The person wanted to come and collect it today but I've only just got the email as I haven't been on the computer all day :o Just put out a request for a new mattress for me - save the pennies and all that ;)

Right, those dishes won't wash themselves...more the pity :rotfl:

It looks like midnight outside here. Weather hasn't improved and I have a 4 mile walk into work at 4:30 tomorrow morning! I normally get a lift but she's in Turkey for the next 3 weeks.

Thankfully I've got an easy afternoon at home, if OH manages to keep the bedroom tidy in the morning! :)

Good night, Frugalistas :D I hope you all have happy and productive weeks.

I'm in, sorry I'm not playing ball as the bedroom is done on Wednesdays here, end of :o I'm too stuck in my ways (plus it fits in with DPs work and I have to rotate the mattress weekly) but I'll be here doing my kitchen which I have messed up again and the landing (so I'm not a total rebel)

Mudbath, I must admit I have no regrets buying ours, I did use £4k in savings and put a chunk on finance but we got such a good deal I could probably sell it in 3 years (when the finance finishes) for what we paid for it. Part of me cringed when the first payment came out because we won't use it this month, thinking I am paying £200 for a holiday we're not having which is a bit silly, but we enjoyed it so much the first time we went, I am sure I won't regret it. I actually wish we'd done it sooner, that's my only regret so far.

Aww ifits bless him, I bet he's like the little guys I know with the same sort of issues, a brave little guy who takes everything that's thrown at him.

SSL I went through the list and I am not one :D I don't mind second hand but draw the line at skips!

Ds1s sports day tomorrow, just remembered he's at a farm on the morning so I need to find his wellies, argh, where they are I don't know. Best go get sorted, see you tomorrow.
One day I might be more organised...........

I'll be prattling on about nothing again this week.

Boddy - thanks for your reply - glad you'll be financially OK. I just worry sometimes about people retiring and not having enough to live on. My lovely next door neighbour who is like a Mum to me is still working 4 days a week and she'll be 72 in August. She contributed for years into an Equitable Life scheme and of course it all went diddly squat... Mind you, she's the type of person who would shrivel up and vegetate completely if she didn't have to get up to go to work. She needs the mental stimulation (she runs the admin side of a gents outfitters shop).

Had a really nice evening I mentioned earlier that DD dropped in well hungover from a party she went to in London last night. Well, she hung around a while, had a little cry on my shoulder about some sad news she'd had during the day, then she went back to her place for a shower and then came back for Sunday roast. She said she only wanted a side plate's worth. So I did a small dinner plate's worth for her ;) and we chatted about all sorts of things.

She finally left about 9pm and gave me a big hug and said "Thanks Mum, you've mended me again". I shall treasure that moment for a long time I think.

But, I need to get to my bed.

    Goodnight ladies, sleep well.

Dusty - you need to stay because you cheer me up....end of story!

Lil_me - we've spent the evening looking at caravans. We'll probably get something quite old as we don't want to spend more than about £3500. We need to save that much first and that's after i've saved the roof money! Oh joy! xx
