Are you using MPEG-2 per chance, I read somwhere WMM does not handle these very well.
I too am looking for somee software to edit home movies. Ulead's VideoStudio seems to be the cheapest, is it any good?0 -
Sony Vegas is well worth a try
I used this to make a video, all seemed rather straightforward but when it came to exporting it, I had various issues. First I ended up with a 5 second video that was completely black. I realised I had just done something a bit silly when exporting it so I tried again and the file was 600MB; way too large to upload to Youtube. I tried various other settings and ended up with a decently sized video of terrible quality but was finally able to get something viewable that wasn't too big. It seems that it is a lot easier to specify exactly what you want in terms of dimensions and file size with WMM, so I think I will be avoiding Sony Vegas in the future. Thanks for the suggestion though.0
