Hi
Does anyone have the answer to my question. Since signing up earlier this year to the broadband service, they continue to charge less than the £19.99 per month real charge but continue to send a separate bill for some other charge of which I have no idea what it is for. They are now threatening us with debt collectors for this other charge.
Have placed numerous calls to their call centre where despite everytime being promised something would be done and that charge cancelled, we then get another threatening letter!
Have also emailed them when we also get replies saying they will sort things out but then nothing ever happens. We don't want to end up being on some credit blacklist and feel it would just be easier to simply cancel our contract with them fullstop.
We have never actually signed anything with them as it was all done over the phone. Does that mean we are still legally bound to them for 12 months? Any advice gratefully received as we are now at our wits end with them.
TIA

Yes you're bound to them for a year. You need to contact them to clarify this other charge.0

Does that mean I have to wait another year to get out or does upgrading not count as being on a new contract? I was on a simple Talk only package before upgrading to a Broadband packageAt the end of the day - its night! :rolleyes:0

You will be in a 12 month contract for the broadband since the time you added it on to your phone package.0

My Dad has had similiar. I sympathise
he hasnt had any debt letters but they phoned to ask if he wanted to upgrade to anytime calls. he said yes. They charged him the extra £5 a month BUT kept charging him for all his calls and more besides!
he said noone answers emails it is just something copied and pasted. he is kept waiting on the phone for ages on an 0871 number etc etc
he is going to cancel his direct debit and go to tlak talk. he has had enough
Write to them and keep photocopies. then if you get a debt collector you have evidenceI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
