Travel Lodge breakfast not acceptable

:mad:Booked into the Whitstable Travel Lodge by telephone using there robotic service operator. After making the booking we were asked if we required a breakfast which would be at a discounted rate if we ordered now, this was agreed. On arrival we noticed they had no dining room, I ask where the breakfast would be provided and how. I was shown a paper bag containing dehydrated food for breakfast, to be brought to our room. I cancelled the breakfast 15 hours before the morning as it was not acceptable and of poor quantity and quality. I have contacted customer service who say they do not have a returns policy for a cancelled breakfast, although they did not serve it that next morning . I have asked them to reconsider, but where do I go from here to try and get my money back.

Did they attempt to provide you with the breakfast in the morning? If not, then it would appear that they are in breach of contract (they did not provide what you had paid for) and therefore you should be entitled to a refund.
    Gone ... or have I?

 Thank you dmg24 obviously I would like my money back, however we never considered breach of contract. I'm suprised how difficult it is to get refunded for poor quantity or quality of food which is just unacceptable, even from alleged reputable company like Travel Lodge. Many places now charge for food before you get it and may be becoming a bigger problem. :T
Can't seem to find an official body prepared to help in this matter.

What does a 'Breakfast to Go' box consist of?

A Kellogg's cereal pot (complete with spoon and milk), Kelloggs Nutri-Grain bar, orange juice, dried fruit and a cake.

    as opposed to

What does a Bar Café breakfast consist of?

Hi Browntoa guess it may have been a breakfast to go box, although it was sold as breakfast. The contents sound similar but lacked the brand names and not suitable to go anywhere, except the bin. They also accepted the cancelled order as it was not delivered, and how do they get away with however our breakfasts are non-refundable”
Never offered a Bar Cafes Breakfast, probably because they had no dinning or cooking area.

Breakfast in a bag from roadside motel turned out not to be up to 4-Star hotel standards?

i think you should write to head office althought they are not in breach of contract as you told them you didnt want breakfast when you saw it, You didnt get the breakfast the next morning as you requested not to have it .

I doubt very much you wil get your money back but may get vouchers towards a stay else where

God the breakfast isn't that bad. It's meant for people who are leaving early next morning. It's just your typical breakfast without being cooked. Cereal, croissant, orange juice.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
