I am 37 and like clearmydebts I started my descent into debt at about 23/24.
I would just like to say well done to you for seeing the light so young and making an effort to tackle your debt while it is still relatively small. :T :T :TPigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi there your doing the right thing staying in. Like the others have said your young and seen the right thing to do is pay off the debt before it gets out of control. im 25 and saw the light 2 years ago. its hard, you have the moments, even ten mins ago i have raided the freezer making pie chips and gravy instead of a takeaway. i realised as much as i wanted one i can make my own here and i have to say no sometimes. i still owe 10k student loan to clear. i work shifts, and i take any fri sat night shifts overtime going...loads of them as people want to go out. Well done and have a tv night. Tonight is CSI sunday, tomo is CSI night too, thats my entertainment!!!

I'm 26 and only saw the light in the last few months, my debt was built up from student days but continued to grow quickly afterwards too.
I've finally picked up on it and got loans for my overdrafts, paid off some high interest loans (stupidly paid for windows on credit and didn't bother to look at the interest rate only to see what the settlement figure was about 3 years later and it was practically still the same as when I had taken it out!! ) . My loans should be paid off by 30 now.
I still have to look at getting a 0% credit card to pay my credit cards off quickly but got turned down before but that may have been because i wasn't on the electoral role but I'm getting there!!
It can be done.
Excluding my student loan I'm at about £20k and want to pay this all off in 4 years if possible, it seems like it at the mo!!;)0 -
