I received my Egg Money card yesterday... I have been trying for the last 24 hours to activate the card online but every time I log on it says that essential maintenance work is being carried out and "We hope to complete this work very shortly so please do check back soon." I tried ringing the number they gave me but got fed up being on hold.

Not a great experience of Egg for my first 24 hours. Never had a problem with Nationwide accessing my accounts online. Are these problems commonplace with Egg?

I do most of my egg stuff online, and it seems easy to move money about and pay the card off etc.. The 5 months interest free deal for existing customers is a great bonus every year.

I have had no problems with EGG, one of the good things about having an EGG credit card is that they give you a 5 month interest free birthday every year, great for transferring balances from other cards and saves you keep applying for new cards and cancelling old ones, remember to pay off all the balance or transfer it again before the five months are up, keep the card clear and wait for your birthday again.

Thanks.... can you log onto your account now? Maybe it is just something wrong in the setup of my account?

Edit : Something strange must have been happening. They have reset my password and all is well now. They had no system outage despite me managing to get a message saying there was!

So I assume nobody noted the signature that is against the site rules, the join date of the OP, or even that the sig is a link to something to do with......you guessed it......America.

I think some people have been had here. Sometimes, those MSE'ers who always help others are too soft! This one had my nose twitching before the page had even loaded on my screen.

I did not notice the link in the signature until you mentioned it in your post.
I did find it rather odd that someone would ask "What is an Egg Card".
The link has gone now.

Was that an odd question? I'm genuinely interested in finances and have found alot of reference to eggs on this forum so I asked.

And I didn't think that my sig would hurt anyone. Just a link to an article on my website, no harm there. Are links totally forbidden? Can't I just place a link to my website in my sig, I want people to know about it!

Just the addy like it's now is ok?
