I was thinking if we left it as July, when we are all closer to being debt free or even when we are debt free, we can easily look back to July 08 and the start of our journeys!!
I hope everyone is ok and Tony that you are still enjoying your job.
It's my birthday today and having sacrificed presents we are now sat debating whether to go out to tea or not and put it on CC!!!!! I know it's wrong but would so love to....The good you do comes back to you.DFW Long haul supporters No: 1340 -

OK we decided against that and have opted for a chinese takeaway and beer instead from the savings account and have vowed to make it back up!! Surveys and mystery shops galore to make up the £30 between now and the end of the month.
Had a lovely birthday even without presents!!!
Love to you all....

Happy Birthday to you Rubi xx
Yes, I think we should leave it as July 08,sort of sentimental in a way! Yes ladies, I'm still enjoying the new job and petrol was put in today at £25 for the next 7 days - big difference from £50 - Iam struggling badly tho this month guys and it just seems ages til payday. I have just had to pay another £100 to my solicitor (balance now £250) she is so kind letting me pay by installments but i cant take advantage of her. So thats got me down a bit as I was hoping to get through til the end of the month. Cant wait for my tax refund cheque tho.
Did you fit all the candles on the cake Rubi???? lol xxx
It really helps talking to you guys, it really does xx0 -
Well done Tony, glad by being here we are helping, it sounds like you are doing great.
As for candles.... cheeky!!! 21 again me.

happy birthday rubydoiwannabee:bdaycake: enjoy your takeaway
sorry I havent been on for ages but hey I'm here now
Tony you ought to look on the OS boards for ways of being thrifty . I had loads of good ideas from there. alot are to do with shopping and cooking though (dont know if you are into that) but it might help to eek (real word??) out your money
I am going to try and halve our grocery bill as DD1 is going to have a brace fitted next month and she cant have sweets/choc/fizzy drinks etc so that should save some money
hope everyone is ok0 -
hi cas, thanks for that, yes i really do enjoy cooking!!!0

Happy birthday for yesterday Ruby!!!! and good on you for choosing the takeaway instead of going out for a meal!!!
Yes I agree about keepin the thread with a July 08 title now you've explained why, it'll be quite an emotional time for us when we're all paid off and look back on it won't it?
I did the snowball thingy again yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at how soon we can pay everything off now we have got rid of dh's car, we could even have it paid off sooner than this as I haven't incuded my bonuses in there which are around £1500 every 3 months, they're not guaranteed though which is why I haven't included them but I have always got them up til now
Plus I have a dilemma, we have £10k stashed away in my childrens accounts, I have thought that when our debts are down to £10k, using this money to pay it off completely (to save on interest charges) and then replacing it over the course of 5 months, but I feel realy guilty about doing this, what do you think?Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Hiya Kel
been on this blumming computer nearly all day today, yes its rained here all day aswell and I have a MOUNTAIN of ironing to do, did some washing this morning but haven't been able to hang it out so it will have to go in the dryer (more expense!!)
Not had a NSD today either, spent £15 in farmfoods, bought the kids some new school pumps, thought I was doing really well as they were only 99p a pair, bargain! until DD reminded me that she doesn't have to wear them next term!!!! so need to take hers back.
Also bought myself a top and dd some trousers in Dotty P's sale (£20, sigh!) hers are a size 6, she's only 9 and they fit her!!!, a bun tin from Boyes t £1.49 so spent a bit today, but I have had 3 NSD's this week so not too bad.
Also got home to find my Dooyoo cheque for £50 has come through the post yipee!!!Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00
