If anyone knows what day that this is going to be given away on and could enlighten me in advance, I would be extremely obliged. I already have most of the others and don't fancy the trip into town on a daily basis to check that particular days offering. Many thanks.

It's the 1978 not 1930 version of All Quiet on the Western Front (which, of course, may be the one you want)

The Mail on Sunday next weekend will have the complete Simply Red album "Stars" inside every copy (according to today's issue)

steady_eddie, if the DVD's are available in the same order as they are pictured in toda's paper, then the film you want should be out on Monday 21st.

I have! some of them ARE classics (In Which We Serve, A Matter of Life and Death, Reach For The Sky, Colonel Blimp, Went The Day Well), others are more recent sequels or remakes of variable quality. It's often the case with the Daily Mail offers.

Moving on, The Guardian is offering a Godzilla DVD next Saturday (19th April); if the picture used in the advert is anything to go by, it's the original Japanese movie from 1954 (iMDb link) and not the Devlin/Emmerich remake...

Barbara and Quaint1, thanks for your assistance. It was the 1930 version that I thought was on offer. :o Didn't even know that they had remade it.
Saw it some years ago on the box and the state of technology in it reminded me of my service in the forces in the 60s and 70s. (19 that is, not 18):D

Well you do need to have a TV and turn it on ocasionally.

I think 13 of them have been on BBC or ITV in the past 12 months.

There is just 1 of the 16 films that I have never seen - although that is because it is the remake version.
I HAVE seen the B&W original. We were shown that one at school.

I've seen all of the other 15 films at least twice - a couple probably 6 or 7 times at the very least.

Obviously KWAI is a sequel but from what I can see is it only the AQotWF that is a remake !
