O2 PayG just charged me £5 for a txt

I have only just topped up my phone, giving me a balance of £10.25, however after sending a txt to a friend, I was charged an astonishing £5. and to ring customer services cost 25p a min, whats going on?

Sounds like you have subscribed to something and when you have topped up the cost has been taken from your balance...Maybe O2 Numbers?? This service costs £5 per month and gives 1000 units to O2 Numbers, texts and mins.

Sounds like your o2 numbers payment has been taken. Very much doubt the company would charge you for sending a standard text.
Infact, it's impossible. The billing system wouldnt do it.
Unless of course it was a premium rate message,
