I can confirm Daniel's input as above.
I have just opened a Premier Direct account. I had to mention the £100 and they said that it would be added - I think if I had not mentioned it I would not have received it. I was never asked for a code.

I've just telephone the local branch. The girl didn't know anything about it, said it was £50. I asked her to double check with the manager and she said only a select number of people had been sent this leaflet out. Anyway I'm booked in this afternoon and as long as I have the ref no I can have it. I'll let you know how I get on.

Hi Just to update. I filled an application in yesterday and quoted the ref no etc (didn't have a leaflet) The girl said I was lucky because only 20,000 had been sent out. I was also advised not to take a joint account but to then recommend my OH and open a joint accountin his name with me as a second name and we would get an extra £50 each.

Not sure if this offer is still on but I got the £100 they offered me without any fuss way before the 8 weeks indicated. I also got £50 for being a referree, so £150 in total.

I did this before christmas - as far as i understood it, it was for existing A&L customers who did not have current accounts (i have my isa with them). for me it took exactly 8 weeks to get the £100 but it was credited.

Might be worth a look if its open to everyone. As someone above said, I don't want to move from my Nationwide Current Account but maybe I could set up a direct debit for £500 from my Nationwide Acc to Alliance and Leicester each month and then just take it straight back out again!

Unfortuatley the banks wont allow this they are after your empolyee details so its then a hassle for you to close it down and move back.
